Asia For Animals Conference

Where and when will the conference be held?

The conference will be held at Furama RiverFront Hotel, Singapore, from 15th – 19th January 2010.

How do I register for the conference?
Please download the registration form and either fax or send it to us by mail or email.

How do I pay for the conference fees?
Payment for the conference fees is by TT remittance or by credit card (Visa or Mastercard). Details are on the registration form.

Can I register for the conference now and pay the conference fees when I arrive?
You need to pay the conference fees at the point of registration. We will not be accepting payment at the conference venue.

What are the daily conference hours?

15th January: 8.30am – 5.00pm
16th January: 8.30am – 9.00pm
17th January: 8.30am – 5.00pm
18th January: 8.30am – 10.00pm
19th January: 8.30am – 5.00pm

What kind of food will be served during the conference?
All food served at the conference will be vegan.

Are there other hotels available, other than those listed on the website?
There are other hotels available. However, rates for the hotels suggested have been reduced for conference delegates and are reasonably close to the conference venue.

Can you book my accommodation for me?
No, you have to contact the hotel directly to make a booking. Please remember to quote ‘Asia For Animals’ for the reduced rates.

If I stay on in Singapore after the conference, will the conference room rates still apply?
Yes.

I need a letter to apply for my visa, can ACRES provide me with one?
Yes, please contact us and provide us with your full name as in passport, nationality, passport number and date of issue. We’ll then send you a letter promptly.

What will the weather be like?
Singapore has a pleasant, tropical climate year round, varying from an average of 28 - 32 degrees Celsius during the day to 23 - 27 degrees Celsius in the evenings. It is not unusual to have intermittent showers on a sunny day, but the showers rarely last long and they provide a cool respite.

What currency does Singapore use?
The currency used in Singapore is the Singapore dollar.

Is a pharmacy or doctors surgery available near the conference venue?
Pharmaceuticals are available from numerous outlets, including supermarkets, department stores, hotels and shopping centres. Registered pharmacists work from 9 am to 6 pm.

Is vegetarian food easy to find in Singapore?
There is a good range of Indian and Chinese vegetarian restaurants in Singapore. A guide will be provided in your conference bag.
